Welcome to the evening of Ukrainian photographers at the Joutsa main library!

Photographers Iryna, Olesia and Valentyn, who are visiting the Haihatus Art Center residency, will talk about their work, including photographing in war zones, and present a selection of their photographs.

IRYNA KLACHEK is a documentary photographer and media producer who focuses on human stories related to movement, culture and resilience in her work. Her work spans diverse environments from war zones to remote mountain regions and running communities.

OLESIA SAIENKO is a photographer, artist and master of psychology. She started her career as a photojournalist in 2017. She now works at the intersection of documentary and conceptual photography, and also creates video works, installations and artist’s books.

VALENTYN KUZAN is a portrait photographer who currently works as a photojournalist. Before the Russian invasion, he carried out a large-scale Cultprocess project in which he photographed Ukrainian artists. Since the start of the Russian invasion war, Kuzan has shifted to documenting the war, such as photographing Ukrainian soldiers for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
