The international artist residency at Art Centre Haihatus is located in Joutsa, Central Finland. The residency offers a peaceful environment for independent work, as well as opportunities to meet and collaborate with other resident artists.
The open call welcomes artists from different fields, art students and other creative professionals. There is no requirement to produce a finished work or other outcome during the residency – you can use the time to focus on your own practice and develop your project. If you wish, you can also organise an exhibition, performance, workshop or artist talk during your stay.

The residency offers shared and more private workspaces, as well as a range of tools and materials. Accommodation is provided in single or double rooms, and residents have access to shared living and cooking facilities.

You can apply for a residency between February and April 2027, and applications must be submitted by 31 October 2026.
Residency periods can range from two weeks to three months.
