Accessibility

The grounds include gravel roads, paths and lawns. Paths through the ITE art field are mown grass. Most buildings have steps at their entrances.

Gallery

A ramp is installed at the side entrance on request. The narrowest doorways are 80 cm wide, and the highest thresholds are 7 cm. Artworks may reduce the width of otherwise wide passageways.

Steep stairs lead to the upper floor, where the floor is uneven. Areas requiring extra care are marked. Exhibitions may include dark spaces and video installations using bright lights.

Fantasia

Fantasia is the most accessible exhibition building on the grounds. Its entrance has a permanent wooden ramp, 94 cm wide. There are thresholds of approximately 5 cm at the ramp and the entrance.

Toilets

All toilets are gender-neutral. The doorways to the gallery’s three public toilets are approximately 60 cm wide, with thresholds of 5–7 cm.

The most accessible toilet on the grounds is in Fantasia. The doorway is 80 cm wide, with a threshold of approximately 2 cm. There is approximately 45 cm of space to the right of the toilet, 70 cm to the left and 100 cm in front.

Animals on the grounds

Pets are welcome on a lead. Haihatus’s resident cat, Räisänen, roams freely around the grounds. Residency guests and artists may also have pets with them.
