British-born Susan Williams creates site-specific installations and multimedia works. She studied at Kingston University and the Royal Academy of Arts in London and has exhibited widely internationally.
Williams seeks to capture the spirit of a place and make its invisible qualities visible. At Haihatus, she has cut the shapes of residents’ hands from stacks of newspapers. They form shadows of people past and present – perhaps even ghosts in keeping with Halloween.
The exhibition brings together landscape-like forms and delicate natural elements, creating a sense of mystery and enchantment. Her works respond to the light, form, purpose and materials of the space.

Korean artist, professor and director of the New Media Art Lab at Konkuk University, Sungyeon Park explores her two months of everyday life in Finland.
Park approaches her experiences through the figure of the tietäjä in the Kalevala: a sage who knows the essence and origins of things. She reflects on the connection between the Finnish words for path and knowledge, exploring everyday life through paths and wooden boardwalks that connect people with nature.
Her observations take shape in two drawing series. Colourful works draw inspiration from her neighbours’ outdoor clothing, while abstract drawings interpret the rhythms, stresses and intonation of spoken Finnish.
The exhibition also features installations combining natural materials with everyday objects and furniture, including chairs and coat racks. These works explore relationships between nature, people and home.
