Haihatus Artist Residency
Haihatus Art Center is an international art residency and creative space and gallery, located in Joutsa, Central Finland, in three historical buildings with a big garden and outdoor sculpture park. The Haihatus team organises events, exhibitions, and workshops that involve artists, the local community, and cultural professionals.

Our studios are best suited for visual and performing arts.
Accommodation
We have 4 single rooms and two double rooms. Every room also has a kitchenette; there’s a kettle and microwave on the accommodation level. Fully equipped communal kitchen and cooking basics.

Payment, Deposit and refund policies
There is a confirmation deposit (price of 1 month staying) which we ask the accepted artists to pay 90 days before their arrival. In case if an artist doesn’t pay the deposit the residency keeps the right to suggest the place to another artist.

Refund policies
If an artist notifies the residency about any changes in their plans to attend the residency:
- 60 – 90 days in advance – full refund
- 30 – 60 days in advance – 50% refund
- Less than 30 days – no refund
Cases for full refund regardless the time the artist notifies the residency:
- Death of close ones
- Severe illness of the artist
- Official rejection on travel documents (visa)
In other force majeure cases we propose to an artist to reschedule the residency according to the residency availability.
